A public presentation of The Elephant Cage Projects will take place on 25th November at The Portsmouth School of Architecture.
Dutch and British project designers will present the results of their three-day Elephant Cage workshop at a public meeting organised by Project Compass, alongside Architectuur Lookaal and the University of Portsmouth.
The Elephant Cage allows young professionals to work on current issues, creating scenarios that integrate innovative solutions. In this competition the focus is the Portsmouth Southsea frontage. Participants from the UK and the Netherlands were selected for project and organised into competition teams.
This event is for the participants to present their solutions and outputs to various stakeholders, members of the public, and their representatives.
In March next year, participants will visit the Netherlands.
Elephant Cage competitions have a successful established history as a competitive design ideas procedure developed in the Netherlands.
The Elephant Cage derives its name from the idea that big young beasts from different countries are put together in competitive teams to elicit a creative ferment of new, fresh and informative design ideas over a short time.
