Celebrating Star Wars Day through discussion and debate, this symposium will offer the opportunity to interrogate why the franchise has been successful and how much it has impacted popular culture.
Speakers include Dr William Proctor, Bournemouth University, Dr Megen de Bruin-Molé, University of Southampton, and Dr Matthew Freeman, Bath Spa University.
Papers will focus on a range of topics including: Fandom, Disney, the transmedia paratexts of Star Wars, and Performing Arts, followed by a Star Wars themed quiz with prizes!
The day will begin at 9.30am in ELW 1.09, and will end at 6.00pm.
The day will include 20 minute papers and discussion, lunch, a special screening with an introduction, plus a quiz!
