Part of a series of online events that proposes that academia cannot realise its full potential unless it engages with the ‘gifts’ of all involved. If we take as our basic premise that teaching and learning should consist of diverse acts of care, the diversity of our communities needs to be represented in the curriculum and its delivery.
These talks will focus upon gender in spatial design education and the built environment, supporting ongoing conversations within the Portsmouth School of Architecture which explore matters of care as an ethos permeating architecture and interiors education and research. Through the invited speakers, the series will offer participants the opportunity to share, in open supportive conversations, their matters of concern and how those are acted on through care.
This event will be followed by a talk from Rosie Cooper, co-curator of the recent exhibition at the De La Warr Pavillion Still I Rise: Feminisms, Gender, Resistance on 18 June 2020.
