Crafts in the Tower art group scorn a winter break, and will be open as usual next Sunday on the 17th January at the Square Tower.
Many of the artists will be offering some January bargains. Look out for discounted ends of line in ceramics, textiles and stationery. Kendal James is offering a three for two sale of all her work. Kendal is also holding a pixel workshop all through the day. Each session lasts for 30 minutes and will take place between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
This is the last show before Valentine’s Day, so it is a good opportunity to find a romantic gift. Di Wren has made heart shaped love tokens and there will be a variety of work both in glass, ceramic and embroidery featuring hearts, birds and butterflies. The two jewellers will have a wide choice of beautiful and original pieces in silver, gold and precious stones. Lesley George has gorgeous embroidered bags, scarves and brooches in glowing colours.
There will be hand-made valentine cards as well as the usual greeting cards and some glittering gold leaf work by Kelly Hickman, alumna of the University, to drive away the winter gloom. Kelly is also the promoter of Crafts in the Tower events.
Come to the warm haven of the Square Tower in Broad Street, Old Portsmouth to see the beautiful art work, perhaps grab an amazing bargain and enjoy hot drinks and tasty cakes at the vintage tea room.
Opening times this month are 11am to 3pm and admission is free.
