The Clothes Show Live is the UK’s largest fashion festival, with top fashion and beauty brands, make-overs, experts and non-stop catwalk shows celebrating next generation talent, the event was a wonderful opportunity to promote students and graduates from BA (Hons) Fashion and Textile Design at the University of Portsmouth.
BA (Hons) Fashion and Textile Design had the pleasure of exhibiting at this year’s Clothes Show Live taking place at the NEC in Birmingham. With both a static showcase and graduate fashion catwalk, visitors were able to meet the staff, view portfolios and digital lookbooks and had the opportunity to participate in the design a scarf competition, the theme of which was’ The Island City’. The winning design will be announced on the fashion and textile course blog soon and the winner will have their design digitally printed onto silk here at the University.
The University of Portsmouth BA (Hons) Fashion and Textile Design have received some great feedback on the student’s work with a particular focus on the creativity and quality of construction. Many visitors commented upon the breadth of experience our students are offered by studying fashion and textiles together.
The team were delighted to meet Caryn Franklin and discuss the Diversity Now campaign, which promotes a broader range of body and beauty ideals within creative industries.
Caryn Franklin will be joining us on the 22nd January to give her Diversity NOW! Lecture, check out the details here.
