CCI Placement Year: Full-time Promotions Assistant Vacancy 2017-18

The Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI) are seeking a committed Promotions Assistant to help with all aspects of the preparation, promotion and installation of the Faculty’s events and exhibitions programme situated on site in the new Eldon Building and off-site at the Guildhall in Portsmouth.


Opportunity: Appear in a 360 video shoot!

Fashion & Textiles are looking for 350-400 people to take part in a 360/3D video shoot as a part of the crowd in their film showcasing their graduate collections this year! The film will include a big performance (dancers, acrobats, ballet, contortionists, aerial and circus performers) at the New Theatre Royal on Thursday 6th April. At 4.00pm they want to pack the auditorium for the grand finale to the film!


Calling CCI Alumni practitioners – research residencies in the fields of Architecture, Design and Digital Culture

Het Nieuwe Instituut, the Dutch institute of architecture, design, and digital culture, announces an open call for three research fellows to work in residence from September 2017 to February 2018. Since its founding in 2013, Het Nieuwe Instituut has fostered research initiatives in the form of exhibitions, events, archival investigations and publications by a variety of practitioners, independent researchers, academics and curators.


Revolv Collective are accepting submissions!

Krasimira Butseva, MA Photography student at the University of Portsmouth, is a part of Revolv Collective, a group of both current students and alumni aiming to support emerging photographers and help them gain recognition. The group are currently accepting submissions for features on their website as well as looking for artists to take over their Instagram account.


Applications Open for Being Human Festival 2017

Being Human returns in 2017 for its 4th year this November with the theme ‘Lost and Found’. The festival will run 17-25th November 2017 – applicants are invited to respond creatively and in ways that probe the rich intellectual possibilities of the theme.


Design Tea Packaging Competition – win a trip to Japan!

This student design competition is sponsored by a Japanese Bank to help revitalize the regional Ibaraki economy in Japan. It asks students to create designs for local Ibaraki products, in this case tea. The winning design will be selected by the company producing the product and the packaging will be produced with the name of the student and their institution. The winning student (or representative student if a group submission) will be invited to visit Ibaraki for one week during the summer of 2017.


Royal Television Society launches undergraduate bursary programme for 2017

The Royal Television Society has launched its Undergraduate Bursary Schemes for 2017,. The RTS is offering 20 bursaries to students studying accredited TV Production and Broadcast Journalism degree courses and a further five technology bursaries for students studying Computing and Engineering, and investing over £75,000 to support UK students from lower income backgrounds.
