SURFACE TENSION is an innovative community arts project aiming to connect creativity across Portsmouth.
Claire Sambrook, senior lecturer in the School of Creative Technologies is building on her portfolio of innovative creative projects that collaborate with the creative industries and communities in the City of Portsmouth, such as Love Your Bike Portsmouth, Southsea Deck Your Chairs, the Round Tower exhibition, Creative Portsmouth book and last year’s Creating Balance Project.

This project and exhibition is a collaboration between Armed Forces Community Covenant scheme, public funding from Arts Council England for Fusion lab taking place in Space, staff and students of the University of Portsmouth, Somerstown residents, local artists, Sharon Court and Paul Gonella.
University of Portsmouth’s Senior Sound Studio Technician at Middle Street Studios and member of the band The B of the Bang, Chris Whitear, announced that his group has recently signed with local label Pie & Vinyl Records. The guitarist and lead singer (aka Wit) assists in the running of the label with Steve Courtnell from the shop of the same name situated down Castle Road in Southsea.
The University of Portsmouth’s Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI) is delighted to invite you to a collaborative exhibition taking place in Space called Far From Home. Far From Home is a community arts project for University of Portsmouth students to engage with active and ex-service personnel who live in Portsmouth.
