Open Call to Artists

BA (Hons) Photography students, Vera Hadzhiyska and Robbie Spotswood, have set up a new art organisation; Bohemian. They are looking for local and international artists to exhibit their work in association with The King’s Theatre, Southsea.


Student opportunity: Exhibition Space at King’s Ship Tattoo Studio

Since opening in August 2014, King’s Ship Tattoo Studio on Marmion Road, Southsea has held a number of art exhibitions of all mediums for local artists to showcase their work. Students of the University who are seeking a local exhibition space are invited to display their work with the studio.

The creative industries in the UK have grown dramatically in recent years, becoming a power house of economic growth and innovation in the national economy. As of January 2015 the Gross Value Added (GVA) to the UK economy for the creative industries has increased 25.8% since 2008, with the creative industries contributing £8.8 million to the UK economy every hour*. In recent years the creative sector in Portsmouth has grown dramatically and for the first time we want to take a measure of the sector in the city.
