If you love independent film then you’re in for a real treat! Now in it’s ninth year, DVMISSION has grown to become an annual extravaganza with well over 250 amateur and professional filmmakers taking part. DVMISSION is the longest running 48 hour film challenge in the UK and is the biggest on the South coast.

CCI Media Production’s video editing technician, Toby Meredith has co-produced a new action thriller film He Who Dares. IMDB liked the movie so much it features on their homepage along side Hollywood box office hit’s.
A documentary the Media Production team produced will be screening at an international film festival later this year. This year’s 6th International Film Festival STEPS will be screening Life at the Other End. The film is a collaborative production with CCI, Social Work Inclusion Group (SWIG) and directed by Dr. Yohai Hakak.
In relation to Jordan Baseman’s artSOUTH commission at Omega Centre, aspex will be screening a series of feature films and documentaries, selected by the artist and his collaborators, which have inspired and relate to themes in Baseman’s work.
On the 20th of May at 7:30pm, a group of Film & Media students from the University of Portsmouth will be premièring their final year video projects. The screening will include many different types of films, including thrillers, romance and dark comedies. This is an event showcasing Portsmouth’s young talent in film.

This new adaptation has been received with mixed reviews from here and the Americas.
