CT School takes part in UK-Russia Year of Music

Back in October 2019, representatives from the University of Portsmouth and the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries visited Russia for eight days, as part of UK-Russia Year of Music supported by the British Council and British Embassy in Moscow.

Mark Ovens, Deputy Director of UoP Global, and Dr Adrian Hull, Head of the School of Creative Technologies, travelled to Russia between 1st and 8th October to represent the University at education fairs for students in Moscow and St Petersburg.

In addition, as part of the Study UK trip organised by the British Council, Adrian gave lectures and talks at the Moscow Music School, the Ural State University in Ekaterinburg and the State Philharmonic in St Petersburg on ‘Music Composition in the 21st Century’ and ‘Music, Creativity and Technology’ to University students and lecturers, school children and the general public.

“I thoroughly enjoyed presenting at these prestigious institutions and seeing how enthusiastic the Russian audiences were about the UK approach to learning about and developing Music and Creative Technologies.” – Dr Adrian Hull
