Following the 2018 and 2019 editions, the University of Portsmouth is pleased to announce the Introduction to Drawing course will run again in early 2020, led by Peta Tattersall of the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries.
The course will start on the 7th of January 2020 and will run weekly on the same schedule, Tuesdays between 18:00 and 20:00 until the 25th of February. The sessions will be held in the Eldon Building Drawing studio in a relaxed environment, ideal for developing your creative skills.
All students are welcome regardless of skill level, whether you wish to establish a career in arts or advance an already-existing one, learn a new hobby or revitalise an old one. The course will progressively take you through the fundamentals of drawing, help you explore different media and experiment with various techniques, styles and materials whilst illustrating subjects ranging between still life and life models.
If you come along on the course, you will be provided with basic materials such as paper and charcoal, but you are encouraged to bring your own supplies (e.g. chalk pastels, pencils), too. Course tutor Peta Tattersall will offer you guidance and advice on how to approach different techniques and experience new creative media, in order to help you advance your skills throughout the 8 weeks.
Course Fee: £170
