The Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries shares a solo exhibition from University of Portsmouth MA Photography student, Vera Hadzhiyska. Her exhibition ‘With the Name of a Flower’ can be found in the Four Corners Gallery in London from 3rd – 7th September.
Vera Hadzhiyska investigates the forced name changes (from Muslim to Slavic names) of the Bulgarian Muslim population in Bulgaria throughout an extended period of time (1912-89), taking into consideration the past and present historical and political context.
The exhibition will showcase new work by Vera; including a multi-channel sound installation, video installation, self-portraits from the series Vera and more.
There will be workshops for emerging and established artists available during the week. (4th, 5th and 6th September, book online)
Free entry – must be booked in advance.
