Artist in Residency opportunity for a final year student or recent graduate

The Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries at the University of Portsmouth are thrilled to share an opportunity for CCI students to apply for an artist residency in East Sussex.

King & McGaw are inviting artists to apply for a six-month residency at their studio workshop based in Newhaven, East Sussex. This exciting opportunity is aimed at a creative graduate or an emerging artist who would benefit from a free studio space to develop their practice.

The artist will be given space and access to waste materials in King & McGaw’s workshops where they produce thousands of printed art products each month for museums, galleries and customers across the world. Their workshop is home to state-of-the-art digital giclée and lithographic printing machinery as well as a framing studio. The workspace available will be in the midst of this creative environment.

The successful applicant will have access to professional advice from King & McGaw’s experienced publishing and design teams and the freedom to create and experiment in a supportive environment.

King & McGaw do not have a commercial agenda as all art produced will remain the property of the resident artist.  All they ask is you make use of the space and resources for the best.

Read an interview with our past artist in residence and illustrator, Dugong John.

To apply please email King & McGaw with examples of your work and a CV.  All enquiries and applications for the position would be submitted to the email:
