Be a Part of Black Bird Film Festival

The University of Portsmouth, Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries are pleased to share an opportunity for film, and media students to work with Black Bird Film Festival.

The Black Bird Film Festival are looking for film submissions for their 2019 event, which will be their second festival.

Black Bird are reaching out to universities and colleges to discover new and upcoming talent in the film industry, and give new filmmakers a platform to showcase their work.

If you want to submit your work to Black Bird Film Festival, it must be eligible, according to the rules below.

  • Only films produced in the UK, or made by UK filmmakers will be eligible.
  • At least one member of the production team must be a first-time filmmaker (this can be anyone from actor to runner).
  • No films completed prior to August 2017 will be considered for any award (they may be shot before this time)
  • Award winners will be required to attend the festival, failure to confirm attendance may result in the forfeit of any awards, however exceptions can be may in certain exceptional circumstances.

The Black Bird Film Festival will take place 25th February 2019, at the Arena Theatre in Wolverhampton, and tickets cost just £4.

Each year Black Bird raise money for a different charity, this year they have chosen to support a homeless charity.
