CCI Welcomes Guests from Canvard College

The University of Portsmouth, Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries, recently hosted guests from Canvard College, in China.

President SONG, and Vice President LIU, of the Arts and Media College, at Canvard College, Beijing Technology and University, visited CCI on Tuesday the 21st of November.

Canvard College have had a long standing partnerships with the Faculty of Business and Law, and visited the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries to discuss pedagogic practice in design subjects.

The guest enjoyed their visits to the Illustration Studio, where they were presented with an illustration by one of our graduates, they also enjoyed the Virtual Reality lab, where they commented on the value of interdisciplinary spaces, that bring students together, and the workshops spaces that provide the facilities for students to develop their technical skills.

40 students from Canvard College participated in a guest lecture with Tom Clulee, Head of School of Art and Design.

According to Louise Bragg, the Team Leader of International Support, in the Faculty of Business and Law,  “Our group of visiting students really enjoyed their visit to CCI – they liked the Dalek, though I’m not sure if they have ever seen Dr Who before!”

Bryony Whitmarsh, Associate Dean for Global engagement, for the faculties of Creative and Cultural Industries, and Humanities and Social Sciences will make a return visit to Canvard in March 2018.
