MA Photography student interviewed on Bulgarian National Television

MA Photography student Krasimira Butseva recently appeared on Bulgarian National Television discussing her work, exhibitions and awards. She was invited to their studio in Sofia.

Krasimira graduated from BA (Hons) Photography at the University of Portsmouth‘s Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries and has continued to the University’s MA course. She is currently in Bulgaria, funded by a Santander Mobility Award. She is the only CCI student to receive the award.

Check out a video of the interview here! Although the interview is in Bulgarian, you can see the translation of the Interview here: Interview on BNT.pdf. Otherwise, you can see the whole program here. (Krasimira’s interview starts at 38:42.)

The Bulgarian National Television website notes Krasimira’s project Slices of Red, which explores personal and social memory in relation to identity and politics and includes archival photos and personal stories. The work has been shown at seven exhibitions in Portsmouth, London and Brighton.

Alongside her own research, Krasimira is currently organising an exhibition of UoP alumni work in Sofia in September.
