Illustration lecturers Nicola Hay and Bob Wright gave an overview of an established Illustration project which sees students research and illustrate an animal in their first year using a wide range of techniques.

Next year, work from this project will be displayed in Shanghai alongside work from SIT as part of the biennale arts festival and in future years both teams will work together to identify a common theme for the project and work collaboratively, giving both staff and students the opportunity to engage in a range of cross-cultural conversations.

“We are delighted to have recently signed an articulation agreement with Shanghai Institute of Technology, which will enable students to apply to join our BA (Hons) Graphic Design and BA (Hons) Interior Architecture & Design courses from 2017,” says Bryony Whitmarsh, CCI International Coordinator. “The commitment of both partners to develop opportunities for students to collaborate, enabling them to develop cultural agility is now beginning to bear fruit and it is fantastic to think that work produced by our Illustration students will be on display in Shanghai next summer.”
