To build on the success of this year’s HEFCE co-funded Postgraduate Support Scheme (PSS), UEB has approved University of Portsmouth funded graduate scholarships, for full-time Masters courses in 2016/17. The University will be allocating 200 cash scholarships, of £3,000, to each Masters student under the scheme.
The scholarship is available to final year full-time undergraduate students, graduating in summer 2016, who are progressing to a full-time full Masters course. Students will normally be resident in the UK for fee purposes. Eligible applicants progressing to eligible courses will be automatically considered for the scholarships. The scholarship will be prioritised to applicants who demonstrate the highest academic achievement from low household incomes. The scholarship will be available in addition to the new Government postgraduate loan.
Exact details of the scholarship are available on the University’s web page at http://www.port.ac.uk/pgs. In addition to promoting the scholarship on the website, eligible final year students will shortly be receiving an email to notify them of the scholarship; marketing through open days and plasma screens will also be undertaken. I would ask that you and your staff familiarise yourselves with the scholarship and communicate this opportunity to students where appropriate.
