The CCI’s Graduate Show is the biggest event of the calender year for the Faculty. It was decided by Denise Callender to hold a student poster design competition, to produce the marketing materials for the lead up to the show.
There were many CCI students who entered but there was one clear winner – Georgia Quaddy.
Georgia, a graduating BA (Hons) Graphic Design student, rose to the challenge and made sure that all the bases were covered in the brief set, which was judged by Promotions Manager Denise Callender, Dean of the Faculty Prof. Catherine Harper, Graphic Design Senior Lecturer Sarah Houghton, Bruce Jamieson of I Love Dust and Claire Brookes from Corporate Commuinications UoP. She even individually created all of the icons featured in the design.
As well as creating the designs, Georgia responded quickly to necessary changes required by the client in the CCI Faculty.
Other areas in the Faculty were able to make use of the designs by incorporating them into school show reels and to also produce the show volunteer t-shirts (hand printed by Print Technician Jo Linkins).
Of the amount of publicity Georgia has been given with her work she said “The Show posters look amazing! I can’t believe how many there are, I really didn’t realise how much it would be put out there”.
Georgia was later presented with her cheque for £250 by Prof. Catherine Harper, next to her poster design.
