If you have harboured thoughts about having your own games company, then chances are you are full of ideas about the types of games you want to make.
Rather than focus on that, this talk will look at some of the practical, legal and financial considerations involved in setting up a new company in the games space, with a focus on the digital download sector.
John Chasey is a successful entrepreneur in the mobile and games space, having had extensive experience in both start-up businesses and large corporations. He identified the potential of the mobile phone as a games platform in 2000, which led to his founding of a new company, IOMO.
After significant success, including three BAFTA nominations and two successive ‘Best Mobile Studio’ awards, John joined Infospace following its acquisition by IOMO for USD15m at the end of 2004. John subsequently founded Metismo, a cross-platform mobile technology company, in 2007 which was acquired by Software AG in 2011.
John currently advises a number of companies in the mobile and technology sector and is also Operations Director of TVR Manufacturing.
