Birkbeck University’s Professor Catherine Grant will talk about filmmaking as academic research, on Audio-visual essays and about the journal she edits [In} Transition as a platform for practice research outputs.
As a relatively early and prolific adopter of the online short video form, Catherine is known for her work on the audiovisual essay in film and moving image studies, especially in found-footage, first person and essay film forms.[in] Transition, which Catherine co-founded, is the first ever peer-reviewed journal of videographic film and moving image studies.
This event is free and open to the public, and will be hosted in Eldon EW. 1.10 at 2pm, on Monday 21st May.
This event is a part of a series of Research Seminars, organised by Lincoln Geraghty, Stephen Harper, Laurel Forster, Deborah Shaw, and Yael Friedman; hosted by the Culture and Conflict Research Group, and the Media, Culture and Communication Research Group.
