From the seaside charity shops of her hometown, to the streets of Dakar in Senegal, fashion historian Amber Butchart tracks her life in vintage clothes.
From working as Head Buyer at international vintage fashion chain, Beyond Retro, to researching and presenting documentaries for BBC Radio 4, a love of secondhand style has permeated Amber’s life from an early age.
In this illustrated talk, Amber tracks her journey, both personal and professional, with secondhand style.
The lecture is taking place on 27th April, at 5.30 pm, in EW 1.11
Wearing vintage and second hand clothing is a fun and creative way to make better choices about how we express ourselves in what we wear without feeding the demand for the manufacture of new trend-driven mass-produced garments.
The lecture is free and open to the public, and you can book your place on Eventbrite.
