Global week is the celebration of global culture and friendship for all students and staff, across the University of Portsmouth, bringing together a calendar of events to celebrate and embrace the diversity of world cultures, traditions and experiences.
MOCAP invite you to come and dance in the University’s Motion Capture studio during Global Week 2018.
The Motion Capture team are creating a VR Experience of different traditional dances including, Afrobeat, Bollywood, Break-dance, Bulgarian, Cuban Salsa, Capoeira and many more.
Through the power of dance, this VR experience will show that We are One, We are GLOBAL, and Dance is the language that unites us.
Be a part of the production in a piece of cutting edge artwork and animation, whilst celebrating our diverse and inclusive university community.
If you are passionate about the University’s international community, would like an opportunity to showcase your national culture through dance, and would be interested in experiencing the cutting edge Motion Capture technology that the University has to offer, then email email@example.com to get involved.
Each dance will be captured as a set of digital data that will then be used to produce an animation, and made available for an open competition artwork, to showcase an celebrate the diversity of our community.
Each group of no more than four people, will need to commit two hours of their time in the Motion Capture Studio on Wednesday the 21st of February 2018, the Capturing of the dances will be done from 9:00 to 17:00 in the MOCAP Studio, Eldon Building (room 1.72).
