Eldon Growers Market

31 March | 11:00 - 15:00

Eldon Growers Market is the first event of its kind and aims to bring together local food producers, the community and students to share great food and great ideas on becoming responsible food citizens. The event will consist of stall holders from many food related projects across the city giving you the chance to “meet your local gardener”, learn about what happens to all the waste food from super markets to benefit the local community and much more. As well as this there will be demonstrations from experienced gardeners on basic gardening skills, an opportunity to make your own insect hotels and window sill planters to get you started on your own green fingered venture.
I am involved in the planning or an outdoor growers market event.

We are a group of students who are looking to set up a mini vegetable farm in the Eldon building as an urban agriculture project and to bring staff, students and the wider community together through joint endevour.

In order to promote the farm, network and get more people thinking about food we have organised this Growers Market with the help of NUS Student Eats and the Soil Association to bring together food growers, charities, and student food projects to share ideas about sustainable food consumption.
