This 2017 exhibition hosted by the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries at Portsmouth Guildhall, marks the 50th anniversary of the so-called ‘Summer of Love’ with a particular focus on Portsmouth in the late 1960s, and the legacy of those interesting times.
After ten days of playful events at this year’s Portsmouth Festivities, thousands of people engaged in a variety of activities. The highlights of the festival included Martha & the Vandellas, Mary Wilson, Denis MacShane & Peter Hitchens, Parkour, TALISK, Peter Donohoe, Wayne Marshall and John Harle.
To mark the 50th birthday of Summer of Love, the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI) at the University of Portsmouth and Portsmouth Cultural Trust (PCT) are delighted to invite CCI students to exhibit in the Freda Swain Lounge ‘Gallery’. The selected student work will be part of an ongoing exhibition programme occupying a pivotal position in the building enriching the visual and cultural experience of visitors to the Guildhall.
