Aspex Gallery will host ‘Substance’ next March – a one-day event exploring artist’s books as an interactive art form presented by Dave Kirby. CCI is pleased to announce that Dr Maureen O’Neill and other University of Portsmouth staff will be taking part.
This year the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries Graduate Show 2017 took place on June 2nd, and saw Eldon host exhibitions and performances of work from students across courses.
Look Up is a high impact, outdoor gallery, produced by ArtReach as part of Journeys Festival International, where artworks are scaled up to large format and exhibited high up on the exteriors of buildings across the city. The Festival is seeking applications from an artist/artists to create 6-8 artworks for the 2017 Look Up exhibition in Portsmouth. This is a paid commission with an inclusive fee of £1,500 offered.
BA (Hons) Illustration student Danielle Hackett has designed a T-shirt for the Wedgewood Rooms, who are asking a series of local artists to create limited edition designs to celebrate their 25 year anniversary.
This student design competition is sponsored by a Japanese Bank to help revitalize the regional Ibaraki economy in Japan. It asks students to create designs for local Ibaraki products, in this case tea. The winning design will be selected by the company producing the product and the packaging will be produced with the name of the student and their institution. The winning student (or representative student if a group submission) will be invited to visit Ibaraki for one week during the summer of 2017.
Greek artist and University of Portsmouth student Vivi Markatos has won the Chaplaincy Carol Poster competition.
This October, delegates from the Higher Vocational School at Shanghai Institute of Technology (SIT) visited the University of Portsmouth’s Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries.
