The Music Department at the University of Portsmouth is a non-academic one, and so the students who participate in our ensembles do so purely because they want to! The Department offers a wide range of activities for students who are interested in music, regardless of which degree they are studying for. Our University of Portsmouth Choir welcomes all staff, students and townsfolk to sing together in regular rehearsals and concerts. The choir was formed in 1965 and now has somewhere near 100 members. It is a non-auditioned group that meets at 6pm on Wednesdays in Eldon W1.11 lecture theatre.

The University of Portsmouth, CCI are pleased to announce the University of Portsmouth Choir will be performing at the Britten’s St Nicolas, Poulenc’s Organ Concerto.
The University of Portsmouth Choir joins forces with the Solent Symphony Orchestra, Portsmouth Cathedral Choir, St Mary’s Church Choir and soloists from the Royal College of Music to benefit local musical charities while realizing a research project led by Dr George Burrows.
