Portsmouth lecturer Lincoln Geraghty shares busy calendar in Film and Television industry.

The Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries’ Reader in Popular Media Cultures, Dr. Lincoln Geraghty at the University of Portsmouth, collaborates with industry events in the field of film and media communication.

Television Finales: From Howdy Doody to Girls, edited by Douglas L. Howard and David Bianculli.

Lincoln was recently interviewed on Wave 105.2 FM to discuss fan reactions to the new Doctor Who series that premiered last Sunday.

He is also hosting a panel at this month’s Star Trek convention at the NEC in Birmingham. “Fans and Collecting” panel will run from 5.30pm on Saturday 20th October at Destination Star Trek. On the Excelsior Stage! He will also be spending time in the Science & Education Zone talking about his research on Star Trek.

Being a fan means something and often it is the things we collect and keep that matter to us most. This panel debates the importance of collecting in the Star Trek fan community. From toys to t-shirts, autographs to models, we will discuss why we hold on to these objects and how Star Trek offers plenty for the collector to look out for. In addition, he has also contributed to the final episode of the Quantum Leap TV series published in  ‘Television Finales: From Howdy Doody to Girls, edited by Douglas L. Howard and David Bianculli’ just released by Syracuse University Press.
