Professor Deborah Sugg Ryan from the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries at the University of Portsmouth has received two nominations for The Grierson Trust’s British Documentary Awards. Her success was announced this week after featuring in the popular BBC2 series, ‘A House Through Time’.
The series, produced by Twenty Twenty TV, features in both Best Constructed and Best Historical nominations.
Professor Sugg Ryan, Associate Dean (Research), featured each week as the expert on the history of the interior and she also had a credit on the series as a consultant.
She said:“I am thrilled to have played a part in this ground-breaking series, which got great viewing figures and critical acclaim. It is wonderful that it has been nominated for these prestigious awards.”
The series has been commissioned for a second run and Professor Sugg Ryan has recently been filming on location for the new house in Newcastle. The series is due to air in 2019.
