MRes Student Receives Santander Mobility Award

The University of Portsmouth, Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries is thrilled to share the success of MRes student, Pooja Shah.

MRes student Pooja Shah has received a Santander Mobility Award, which are part of the university’s commitment to create greater links with industries and businesses across the world.

This award enables students to undertake overseas activities that contribute to their studies and can be used to cover travel, accommodation, subsistence, course/conference fees.

Pooja is an MRes Creative Industries student preparing for the PhD proposal which explores the relationship between travelling, walking, and drawing.

To prepare her proposal, she started exploring the influences of travelling and walking in/around a place by ‘being in’ through drawing, photography and writing processes.

In order to establish her practice she is looking at artists as Jacob Hashimotto who is based in New York and who exhibits in the US and Europe.

Pooja will use the award to potentially meet the artists and to experience his current work.
