The Chamber music series continues with music in the Round’s resident Ensemble 360. This unique ensemble combines a string quintet with a woodwind quintet, and a pianist!
The remarkable ensemble features nine players, who are all at the very top of their profession, the clarinetist for example is regarded as the finest player in the world at this moment.
The programme pairs a remarkable septet by Janacek with a late-romantic piano quintet by Korngold, with Mozart’s wonderful wind quintet in between.
Korngold is a fascinating example of someone who was equally at home composing Viennese art-music and early Hollywood film-music.
The Ensemble 360 takes place on Monday the 29th of January, at 7 pm, in the Portsmouth Guildhall.
Tickets cost £18, with concessions costing £16 and University of Portsmouth students being offered tickets for just £6!
