The MA Poster day is a piece of assessment for Masters students, that gives them the opportunity to recreate the poster session environment which forms part of many academic conferences.
Students from Lincoln Geraghty’s MA unit, Media Cultures and Industries presented their research posters in the Eldon Foyer on Tuesday the 12th of December, to a number of guests, who were invited to ask questions to students about their work, whilst enjoying a selection of refreshments.
Chiara Bozzella, who participated in the event said
“I was very nervous beforehand, but as soon as everyone was in the space, I felt at ease and it was a very enjoyable little gathering. I almost forgot it was an assessment”
The poster event is a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their research efforts in a visual and engaging way.
Lincoln Geraghty, who lead the event, said
“The academic poster is an important way of communicating your research to both academic and non-expert audiences. Giving the students an opportunity to practice presenting their ideas in this way helps them acquire professional skills they can use either outside academia or in continuing with research at PhD level”
