Support for Startups with Purple Door

The University of Portsmouth, Purple Door, are pleased to offer, a series of Startup/freelance expert talks, exclusively for University of Portsmouth students.

Whether you are already running a business, or have an idea that you are interested in developing, the Entrepreneurs Lounge series can provide a wealth of insider information and advice on a range of business Startup topics.

All events will take place at the Innovation Space, with more information available upon booking. Spaces on all talks will be limited, so booking your place as soon as possible is essential.

The series begins with a session on Marketing and Branding, delivered by award winning Ian Dickson. This session will take place on Thursday the 16th of November between 10 am and 12 pm, and you can book your place here.

Marketing is an essential part of any Startup, it does not need to cost a large amount of money, but a clear marketing strategy should be developed.

Your brand is one of your greatest assets. It is about more than just your logo, slogan, and design scheme, it is about your customer’s total experience of the business.

If you are unsure of how, or why your Startup should utilise marketing and branding, come and find out.

The session will take form in two parts: a short workshop, followed by the chance to ask any questions you have that are specific to your start-up and what you want to find out.

The next talk will take place on Wednesday the 6th of December between 2 pm and 4 pm, and will be focused on Interacting with Clients, with expert Chris Reynolds on hand to share his experiences, and insider knowledge.

This session will address the importance of clients, and discuss how to identify, find, interact with, and retain clients, which is crucial for any Startup.

There will be two parts to this session: a short workshop, followed by a chance to ask any questions about specific questions you may have.

To attend, you must book your place here.
