The Master in Research degree (MRes), is designed for students who have completed an undergraduate degree, are independent learners, and have a good idea, of what they want to study.
During the MRes, students work closely with a supervisor on their own project, which can be a written thesis and/or a practical artefact with a written component. During the course, supervisors will be available to guide the work, each step of the way, and the Graduate School will run research skills lectures, which complement the supervision.
An MRes can be taken in any of the areas covered by Schools within CCI: Media and Performing Arts, Architecture, Creative Technologies, and Art and Design, either on a full time, or part time basis.
Students are encouraged to contact Deborah Shaw for a chat about the Degree, what it requires, and what opportunities it can offer; the best way to contact Deborah is via email email@example.com
To apply, you will need to fill in an application form, and submit a 1000 word proposal that should include:
- An overview of your research topic and the existing research context
- An explanation of why it is important, and its originality
- An outline of the key research questions
- An explanation of the theoretical approach/methods that will be applied
