Amara Competition open to CCI Students

University of Portsmouth CCI students could be in with a chance of winning a £3,000 scholarship, and internship at Amara.

This year Amara have teamed up with leading Universities across the UK to create the Student Interior Designer of the year 2017/18 competition.

The competition is open to college and university students of all years, studying an interior design related course.

To be in with a chance of winning, students are asked to create:

  • A 500 word observational write up, demonstrating knowledge on idea generation, concept development, observations and research methods.
  • A digital mood board, demonstrating natural and artificial light, texture of soft furnishings, wallpaper, use of colour palettes, furniture, accents and styling.
  • A cost sheet, including all costs for the project, including your designer and decorator fees, products bought, delivery costs in net, and gross where needed.

Each entry will be judged by Sam Hood, Amara’s Founder and Creative Director, and entered into the shortlist stage, where people will be able to vote for their winner.

The top prize is a £3,000 scholarship, and a two week internship at Amara, with two runners up receiving a £1,000 each.

The competition aims to provide a fun experience to give students a chance to test out their creative skillset, whilst also providing an opportunity to help progress into a career in interior design.

The deadline for entry is the 4th of December 2017, shortlist voting will take place from the 8th of January until the 12th, with the winner being announced on the 19th of February 2018.
