Support the CCI Green Team!

As part of the University of Portsmouth’s commitment to a low carbon future, The Faculty of CCI welcomes you to support its very own Green Team!

With your help, we have been working to encourage environmentally friendly travel, reduce waste and save energy across the Eldon building. Taking part in The Green Impact Challenge for campuses across the nation, we work throughout the year on a set criteria of actions to improve sustainability throughout the Faculty. Find out more about the challenge here

You can keep up to date with all the green activities in CCI on local green events by following us on Twitter @GreenCCEyes, where you can tweet us your greenest suggestions, and please feel free to contact us if you wish to join up and help us to make Eldon the greenest of University buildings!

You can also see more environmental events, competitions and helpful info on our Green Noticeboards, which you’ll find next to the lift on the first floor in Eldon West Wing.

Recycling bins are located all around Eldon building. Be careful to separate recyclable items from food waste and ensure that only food waste goes into the black-marked food bins and that plastics, glass, paper, cardboard go into the green-marked bins marked for recycling.

It may sounds obvious but people have lately been confusing the two! Additionally, there are some bins marked blue which are for the disposal of liquid only.

If you have any queries about how to recycle different types of waste, please click here.

To Recycle Batteries, you can use the handy battery buckets by visiting Eldon’s front reception, The Caretaker’s Office, The Art Shop and other assorted locations around the building which you can find listed on our webpage.

Don’t forget to check out our website, and if you would like to contribute to the efforts of the Faculty Green Team, please contact us through Twitter @GreenCCEyes or email richard.talbot@port.ac.uk.
