Graphic Design student wins Graduate Show 2017 Design Competition

Chloe Hunt, third year BA (Hons) Graphic Design student from the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries at the University of Portsmouth, has won the Faculty’s Graduate Show Design Competition

Each year, the Faculty puts a call out to students for the annual competition. Students across all CCI courses have the opportunity to showcase their graphic design skills, with the winner receiving a monetary prize and visit to a professional design studio – this year, the selected studio was Strong Island, who promote arts and culture in Portsmouth and Southsea.

The winning design is selected by a panel of judges and used to market the CCI Graduate Show through the use of print invitations, posters, social media, email invites and flyers.

Chloe’s design, visible below, will be viewable across Eldon Building and the University in the build up to the Graduate Show on June 2nd. With last year’s show attracting nearly 3000 visitors, the competition offers students the chance for their work to be seen by current and prospective students, University visitors, and professional and industry partners.

“It feels great to know that my design was chosen to represent the graduate show,” says Chloe. “It’s exciting to be able to showcase all of our hard work and show everyone that comes to visit the degree show, what we are all capable of making and designing. Knowing that a lot of people will be seeing my design is really exciting, I can’t wait for my friends and family to see the posters in person!”
